Osu Kancho and Sensei . my name is James Freeman. I am planning on relocating to Malaysia soon I can easily travel to Singapore or Japan. I am an American currentky living in Thailand. i have been involved in the martial arts for over 50 years. i RECENTLY, in fact last week got my WKO-,World Kumite Organization certifications. I have my 3rd dan (7th duan in White Crane Kung fu) in Goju Ryu and would like to become a member of Ashihara Karate. I have been speaking now for a couple of months with Kancho Husain Narker from South Africa.A great inspiration. WHAT would I need to do to become a member of Ashihara Karate? Can you give me the address i. JAPAN, PLEASE?

I really feel like someone who is good at sweeps is a real problem to deal with.

Shinkiokushin has punch similar to poxing but instead of punch to face lands downward to the chest area. Bit artificial due to restrictions to punch the face snd will not find such in a point Karate.

Always wanted to join ashihara in Sg because kyokushinkai doesn’t focus much on footwork and cutting angles. Ended up learning from boxing and kickboxing. Hope to see sabaki based full contact karate do well.

In my style of kenpo(IKCA), we use that kick to the outside of the thigh to take opponent down. We focus on street defense so a majority of our kicks are groin kicks. I like the idea of going to the inside of the thigh to break the balance.

Saw the Kyokushin flag.

I was taught this form by a Ashihara sensei who was visiting America. I was an Okinawan Gojuryu Nidan at the time. I found it to be so effective in teaching multiple techniques along with tai sabaki that I began using it teaching beginner classes and the adult classes after regular kihon training. Getting the students to understand how to integrate body movement and striking and kicking techniques into their sparring can be difficult. Most could learn the kata fairly quickly and then doing it with a partner made the techniques come to life for them.
